The casting team is said to be looking for someone who looks at least a bit like a young Ford (now 73, he was 35 when the original Star Wars was released) and can be amusing and charming as well as handle the expected action scenes.
British actress Daisy Ridley had previously appeared on TV shows Mr Selfridge, Silent Witness and Toast Of London when she was chosen to be desert scavenger Rey, while her co-star John Boyega’s biggest role was in alien comedy Attack The Block and 24: Live Another Day. “Han shot first” will most definitely continue to be a controversial topic for years and years.
However, by the end of “Return Of The Jedi”, he wanted Lucas to kill Han Solo off. These days, though, he’s uplifted that didn’t happen. “Because I was thinking mythologically-should he be a cowboy, should he be John Wayne?”
With just over a fortnight until The Force Awakens eventually hits cinemas, Star Wars creator George Lucas has spoken of his mixed feelings about seeing the new movie, comparing himself to a divorced father at his child’s wedding. “It’s a mythological reality that we hope our society pays attention to”.
