After Duke’s 94-74 win over Indiana, Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski was asked about Philadelphia 76ers rookie Jahlil Okafor, whose recent string of poor decision making and public fighting earned him a two-game suspension from the National Basketball Association.

The ban comes a day after the 76ers ended a 28-game losing streak over two seasons with a home victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, their first victory of the 2015-16 campaign after opening with 18 consecutive losses. Then it appears as though Okafor walks around the person trying to hold him back, and after that it’s almost impossible to tell who is throwing what punch, but somewhere in there a haymaker is thrown and a window breaks.
But the victim’s attorney tells TMZ Sports they’re POSITIVE it was Okafor – and he needed 10 stitches to close the gash on his eye after Jahlil knocked him out.
There’s so much time for him to improve his ways, but if Jahlil Okafor can’t keep his head in the right place and conduct himself properly off the court, the 76ers may yet have another problem and more drama on their hands.
Okafor apparently addressed some of the recent incidents on Twitter last weekend. Brown wasn’t given the play-by-play of the evening and was surprised by the additional details that came out. “There have been mistakes that have been made, he does own it”, he said.
Brown said the Sixers are working in “partnership” with the NBA, Okafor, his family and his representatives. He said it was a case of bad judgment and it would not happen again. “[Porzingis] is fortunate enough to have veteran guys in this locker room that could kind of talk to him or teach him things here or there, learn from example”. In 19 games, he’s averaged 17.2 points and 8.1 rebounds.
Before the 76ers faced the Knicks Wednesday, the team announced it had suspended Okafor for two games.
Since the suspension is effective immediately, Jahlil Okafor is going to miss the game against the New York Knicks tonight.
A week after video showing a street fight involving Jahil Okafor surfaced, TMZ released a second video of an apparent second incident today.
