Nicholas Thalasinos: Thalasinos was identified to officials on Thursday by his wife, Jennifer Thalasinos.

Mr Thalasinos previously worked as a health inspector in Cape May County, New Jersey.

Authorities have not officially released the names of any of the victims, but the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department stated it would do so once family notifications were confirmed.

Thalasinos is the first victim identified in the shooting.

In San Bernardino County Department of Public Health documents, he is listed as a supervising environmental health specialist with the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health. Previously, she said he had been missing following the attack on Wednesday morning at the Inland Regional Center, which also left 21 others injured.

Both shooters were killed in the shootout with police. Police did question a man that was spotted running from where the suspects were shot and killed, but police now believe he wasn’t involved. Police said Thursday that they found three pipe bombs tied together in the buildings after the shooting.

From the floor of shooting scene, she texted her family: “Love you guys”. Nicholas Thalasinos was a long-time employee of the San Bernardino Department of Health.

Still, radicalization wasn’t necessarily the only driver behind the slayings, as workplace grievances may have also played a role.
