Harper Lee’s attorney recalls finding ‘Watchman manuscript

Word of this portrayal is causing some fans to dismiss “Watchman“. Experts, under direction from Lee, will be asked in the coming months to authenticate the pages, she said.

But others note that “Watchman”, like “Mockingbird“, is set in a small Alabama town before the civil rights era and that Atticus is a complicated figure.

It has become the most pre-ordered title on Amazon since the final Harry Potter book.

Each location will open at 7am on Tuesday, July 14, in connection with Go Set a Watchman’s release. Ms. Badham received an Academy Award nomination for best supporting actress for her performance, and developed a close friendship with Gregory Peck, who played the lawyer Atticus Finch, Scout’s father. Lee finished “Watchman” in 1957, but her editor suggested revising it several times until Lee used Scout Finch to tell the story from a child’s perspective. Appearing live at the 92 Street Y in New York marking the launch of the new book, the appearance will stream live to Lincoln Theater on Tuesday July 14 at 7:30 PM and will be offered free to the public.
