PlayStation 4 Lifetime Sales Exceed 30 Million

However, as soon as Sony noticed that this application is quite requested by a lot of PS4 owners out there, they’ve decided to make this announcement, saying that PlayStation 4 will soon receive a Remote Play for PC and Mac devices.

Sony’s Remote Play service, which allows PlayStation 4 games to be streamed to a PlayStation Vita handheld across a home network, is set to expand to PC and Mac.

Sony’s best-selling console, the PlayStation 2, broke all-time industry records with sales of more than 155 million units during its twelve years on the market. This is a bad news for the unofficial app developer who was apparently working on and off on the app and planned to charge $10 for the hardwork. Yoshida’s comment comes just days after the alpha release of third-party program Remote Play PC, a $10 app capable of streaming PS4 games to the PC. The new app would have the same functionality that independent developer Twisted recently created through an alpha version app in the recent past.

If sales continue as they are, spurred on by holiday sales, it’s likely that Sony will sell through 35 million of the things by the end of the year.

Remote Play was touted as one of the main features of the PS4 on launch. There is also an option to buy PlayStation TV to stream your games on another TV.

KitGuru Says: It seems that the unofficial Remote Play app showed Sony that there is interest in getting the feature on PC.

Sony’s Remote Play feature isn’t a mystery for gamers, but few have been using it because the Japanese company did not make it available for PCs.
