‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 7 Episode 9 ‘Cold As Ice’ Synopsis

Mystic Falls has been evacuated, the Salvatore brothers have been displaced from their home and they have not only had time to get to know their mother and then lose her. Overall, The Vampire Diaries has offered up a lot of drama this season, even as the show has been utilizing the use of flash forwards in order to add mystery to the storylines.

The official synopsis of episode 8 reads: As Julian and Lily throw a party to celebrate Mary Louise and Nora’s anniversary, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) set in motion a risky plan to eliminate a new threat posed by Julian.

“All along, Damon’s been wanting Lily to choose a side-her biological children or the heretics-and stop standing in the middle trying to have it all, because she can’t”.

In the clip, Caroline is seen writing a diary entry to Elena (Nina Dobrev) explaining how she got pregnant, which was caused by the Gemini Coven.

It’s been a bit of a insane time for Caroline this season on The Vampire Diaries. Stefan gets a text from Lily and he is nearly ready to head out with Damon but Caroline surprises them at the door.

Mary Louise and Nora remind Lily that they are celebrating their anniversary. She writes in her diary about it, but eventually tells Stefan. But it’s safe to say that things didn’t exactly go as planned, to say the least, with Julian still standing at the end, and Lily not so much, unfortunately. She thought in turn that this would kill Julian, not knowing that the two were already not linked. I’m sure it didn’t hurt matters that he dropped the “L-word” for the first time, and I don’t mean lesbian. Because of that, when she found out that Julian’s this monster, [she had] to be like, ‘Oh [crap]!’ Despite the constant rumors that she will return to the show soon, the actress was said to be firm in her decision to quit the show. On the promo for this week’s episode, “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me”, Stefan looks a little shell shocked after learning about his girlfriend’s pregnancy. She was clearly still on Team Julian.

But If Lily is dead, then who has Damon chained up in the news studio three years from now? You can hear the voice of his captive and when she emerges Damon tells his mother Lily, “it’s been a long time”.

“When she told me what happened to her, it was as if all the lights in the room finally went on and I could finally see Julian for the man he is”, Lily tells them. Damon walks in just as Lily is sinking her teeth into a compelled party-goer. How could you say anything else about it based on the emotion and the power we saw tonight?
