Two wins and a magazine cover for Broncos QB Brock Osweiler
New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will be assessed on a week-to-week basis and has no fixed target for returning to action following an injury in Sunday night’s defeat to Denver.

Even if the Broncos lost the games against the Chicago Bears and the New England Patriots. Brock Osweiler has won his two starts so far for the Broncos and while there is a chance the team could consider keeping him in even if Manning is healthy, the team has made no indications that they will do that yet.
The Broncos said last week that Manning would miss at least two more games and Pro Football Talk reports that Manning is going to be in a walking cast until Friday. “Like I just said, all I know is that I’m the starter this week versus San Diego. But just running with that nastiness and that strength and just trying to be powerful every time I run the ball, that’s what I’m talking about doing”.
Under Osweiler, the Broncos are a much different team.
“[Gronkowski] was in decent spirits, so that made me happy”, Brady said.
Manning was brutal this season, throwing 17 interceptions compared to nine touchdowns as Denver’s defense carried the team to a 7-0 start. I’m not convinced Manning is going to be healthy enough to play again this season, but if Osweiler remains unbeaten as the QB, the offense has certainly been better wth him in it. So, yes, they should.
“So I vented my frustration about that, and they said if you guys have any questions on that, call them, because they said it was a poorly officiated play”, Mularkey said.
Osweiler was asked Wednesday if he had picked up a copy of Sports Illustrated and said: “I haven’t, I picked up our game plan for the week, though….” At the end of the day, whether the Broncos decide to go back to Manning or not, it’s clear that the Osweiler era is ready to begin, and it’s here faster than a lot of us expected. “A couple of those are protection issues, but they came after us, especially in the second half they came after us, blitzed us a little bit more and he’ll learn from that. But I haven’t thought much more than about trying to get healthy”. “I’m thinking about what [Head] Coach [Gary] Kubiak asked me to do is to try to get healthy, and I’m following his instructions”.
“I feel like I let my teammates down besides that one big play”, Thomas said, via The Denver Post.
“I’m not really focused on how long am I going to be the starter, am I the starter, am I not the starter?” “I wish all of us could be on that cover”.

Quarterbacks coach Greg Knapp “has got his hands full”, Kubiak said.
