Defeated Wlad Demands Rematch With Tyson

Two scored it 115-112 and the other had it 116-111 in favor of Fury (25-0), who is of Irish-Gypsy heritage and comes from a bloodline of bare-knuckle champions on both sides of his family.

A delighted Fury said that he knew all along that he could win the fight, and claimed that he saw the fear of defeat in the eyes of his Ukrainian opponent before the showdown, the Guardian reported. He also performed a rendition of Aerosmith’s I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing to the delight of his fans in attendance.

“In the name of Jesus Christ Amen… I’m not interested in them”, said Fury. “I’d love to knock a few of them out”.

“It was a tough task coming here that’s why he’s avoided me for the last five years”.

Speaking in the ring, after the fight, he said: “It’s nine weeks today he passed away and the team themselves were really behind me when he passed away and supported me”. “If I could be half as good a champion as Wladimir Klitschko, I’d be very, very happy”.

Ultimately, though, the result was a new era in boxing history.

“It’s a very great honor for me to be sat here, champion of the world four times over”.

Fury, who hopes to have a voluntary title defence in Manchester next, before taking on mandatory challengers, says that being champion is “surreal” – but that he’s one of a kind.

“It’s a great honour to be sat here with all these belts as the heavyweight champion of the world”. We have changed the world.

It was a chess match rather than a brawl but Fury looked confident and composed throughout, switching stances regularly and using footwork, feints and head movement to keep Klitschko frustrated.

Former WBC heavyweight champion, Vitali Klitschko, has expressed his shock at his brother’s loss to new WBA/WBO/IBF champion, Tyson Fury, insisting all decisions remain “up to Wladimir” with regards to his next move.

“The speed was missing, for a big man he is incredibly agile”.

Fury landed a right in the fifth but a Klitschko right hand was arguably the best punch of the fight at that stage.

At around the 14:52 mark of the video below with audio of the post-fight press conference, Fury alludes to the notion that Klitschko actually let him have this one in Germany, possibly to set up a big-money rematch down the road.

The bout took place at the second attempt as the original October date had to be scrapped after Klitschko suffered a calf injury.
