In 2013 he was a key player in the team’s run towards the Bundeliga, German Cup and the Champions League titles, and finished third that year in the FIFA Ballon d’Or behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

And it was confirmed by the reigning three-time Bundesliga’s champions later Friday that he would be in the squad for Saturday’s game.

“If you want to pick up points against Bayern, then you have to defend intelligently”.

“A lot of teams try to do that by playing very defensively but that does not always work because Bayern will eventually find their space”.

“We will not only concentrate on our defence, but will look to play forward. We should be operating like we have been doing in the past games, play with risk but also with brains”, said the versatile defender, who has also been deployed in midfield as Schubert shuffled positions.

Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has said that on-loan Juventus winger Kingsley Coman is a rare talent and admits that he has been impressed by how the teenager has adapted to life with the German champions.

“What matters is that they’re all 100 percent fit after the winter break”, Guardiola said.
