U.S. President Barack Obama welcomed the parliamentary vote.
Putin, whose administration has already announced sanctions against Ankara including a ban on the import of some Turkish foods, and reintroduced visas for visitors from the country, insisted Turkey would be made to regret its actions.
Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the president’s statement didn’t mean that Russian military officers have been put in charge of some Syrian army units but referred to a “coordination of Syrian army’s offensive operations with air support”.
Lewis compared Cameron’s assertion that there are as many as 70,000 moderate opposition fighters in Syria with the “dodgy dossier” on Iraq’s military capabilities. He called Turkey’s downing of the jet a “treacherous war crime”.
Russian Federation has responded by deploying long-range air defense missiles at its air base in Syria and slamming Turkey with an array of economic sanctions.
On the downing of the Russian jet, Putin called for a minute of silence for the Russian servicemen who died when the plane went down.
The Turkish and Russian foreign ministers are scheduled to meet on the sidelines of an Organization for Security and Cooperation meeting in the Serbian capital Belgrade on Thursday, Turkey’s Foreign Ministry said.
“There is a comprehension that the Kurds in this issue, as well in the fight against the Islamic State, are allies”, the minister added.
Since the Russian plane was shot down, Moscow has infuriated Turkey by alleging Ankara has links with Islamic State.
Russian Federation has repeatedly been making the claim that Turkey buys oil from ISIL since the incident near the Turkey-Syria border.
On Wednesday, Russia’s top brass accused Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his family of personally profiting from the alleged trade.
Turkey has been angry that Russian Federation targeted opponents of Assad unrelated to Islamic State, especially ethnic Turkmen in villages near the frontier that are close kin of Turks. Nor has the Russian leader taken his phone calls.
After 15 years in which hundreds of British troops died serving as the main battlefield ally of the United States in Iraq and Afghanistan, many in Britain are wary of more war.

But many in his party voted with the prime minister, a move which may bring into question Corbyn’s leadership. “It is now time for us to do our bit in Syria”, Benn said in a passionate speech which drew applause from lawmakers across the House of Commons.
