Troubled Chelsea star set to stay as Mourinho rejects January transfer rumours

According to Matt McGeehan of the Press Association, Mourinho confirmed fit-again goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is back for the test of Bournemouth, but John Terry, Ramires and Radamel Falcao are all injured.

The Belgian will definitely be in the matchday squad against Bournemouth on Saturday after making a full recovery from a knee injury and the manager has declared he will be involved in at least one of the next two games.

Bournemouth have a tendency to start games strongly, having scored 10 of their 17 Premier League goals inside the opening 30 minutes of games – a league-high tally – but the defence certainly needs tightening up if their aim of survival is to be achieved.

While it remains to be seen whether Costa will return to the starting XI for the west Londoners’ Premier League meeting with Bournemouth this weekend, speculation about his future has been mounting. There were 25 players inside and they only got three.

José Mourinho admitted today that Chelsea’s players needed a night out to raise their spirits as a result of their troubled season. “The best and very good”. The decisions, the Euros at the end of the season, the Champions League next week… the Premier League is crucial for us too.

“Courtois is Courtois. To miss Courtois for a couple of matches, we knew we had good protection in a good goalkeeper [like Asmir Begovic]”.

“The next morning everyone trained very well, they were happy”.

“I know that journalists like it when it’s not going well – they are looking for problems – but I never heard there was a problem between Mourinho and Eden”.

If Chelsea does sell Costa in the summer, there’s no doubt that there will be money to spend on a top forward, and on current form, few are better than Higuain, who is leading Napoli to a realistic title challenge.

“The period before and after a match is completely different to any other time because we are under pressure from the game and we feel things changing inside ourselves – we are completely different people”, he told the Chelsea website.

“Bad results, but with good performances, we kept our faith, stability, and belief”. He was out a long, long time. We meet to go to the hotel at 7.30pm for the game and because he’s Diego, he can not report at 7.45pm. “Thibaut was our keeper all last season and you know how fundamental he was, it’s important to have him back”.
