Terrelle Pryor to sign with Browns

Will Hill returned a last-gasp blocked field goal attempt for a touchdown as the Baltimore Ravens scored a dramatic 33-27 win over the Cleveland Browns Monday. That is a big blow to the Browns because McCown was supposed to have finished the season as the starter. “We expect him to play well”.

Quarterback Matt Schaub, making his first start since 2013, threw two touchdown passes for the Ravens (4-7), who seem to take every game to the wire.

The Ravens had looked set to suffer an agonizing late defeat as Cleveland kicker Travis Coons stepped up for what would have been a game-winning 51-yard field goal with the last play of regulation. I don’t want to declare, ‘Hey, this is what it’s going to be from here on out.’ These are two young quarterbacks that have upside and we want to see what that upside is. After being announced as the team’s starter Manziel was caught in the act of partying during the team’s bye week via video.

However, Pettine still left the door open for Manziel to start later this season.

Pettine acknowledged that the club still needs to see what Manziel can do down the stretch. “Just the positive energy that he exuded, the leadership, I just can not say enough positive things about Josh McCown and what he has done for this football team and what he means to this football team”, Pettine said.

“We’ll see what they can do”, he said. It marks the end of a disappointing season for McCown, who dealt with various injuries from the first game of the season. “That is the bottom line”, Pettine said.

“This is where we had an obvious shortcoming”, Pettine said of Manziel at the time.

Davis now gets to show the Browns what he can do with more time to prepare. “I hate feeling unprepared for anything, especially being quarterback on an NFL football team”.

Davis was 7-of-10 passing for 77 yards in relief of McCown including a game-tying touchdown pass to Travis Benjamin. “I think that’s really important regardless of if I was going to serve as the “3” for the rest of the year”.

The Browns did sign Terrelle Pryor to the roster as either a receiver or potentially a No. 3 quarterback.

With this season being lost so early, it would be better to put Davis on the field as he would give the team a better chance to salvage anything from this season. The Browns officially placed him on IR Wednesday.
