Overwatch will be launched on the PC, the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony on June 21 of 2016.

“Overwatch” servers for the closed beta version went live for a few weeks last November. During this downtime, no more invites will be sent out and nobody will be able to access the game, though it will be returning next year and letting in more players to keep testing things out as development continues. Blizzard claims that it has obtained high amounts of “raw data” and feedback from fans. To accomplish this, we will be bringing the Overwatch Closed Beta offline for an extended break beginning on Thursday, December 10 at 9:00 a.m. PST.
During this time off, Blizzard’s developers will be analyzing all the data testers have generated and sitting down with each of the various heroes, either in person or through whatever version of Skype they have in the future, to discuss their performance.
If you were lucky enough to get in on Blizzard’s closed beta of Overwatch, here’s some bad news for you guys.
While the beta servers are closing down on the 10th of December, the beta forum will remain open until the 18th. No new players will be added between now and the shutdown, but all those who are in the current beta will be readmitted once it restarts.

The development team has surprised many players by announcing that the title will use a classic business model rather than the free-to-play one that many were expecting because of the obvious Multiplayer Online Battle Arena influences.
