Norwich boss Alex Neil knows Watford game could be key

Quique Sanchez Flores has stressed Watford have a score to settle when they take on Norwich City at Vicarage Road in the Premier League on Saturday (today).

But Flores is braced for a stern test against the Canaries, who thumped Watford 3-0 in their home and away fixtures in the Championship last term.

But, so far he has raked in an impressive 8 goals in the EPL – nearly half the number scored by Norwich- and the Nigeria International says he wants to help the Hornets climb further up the table.

Dieumerci Mbokani joined Lewis Grabban up front after the half-time interval, but added little to their feeble attacking efforts, with Deeney and Ighalo routinely threatening the Norwich goal before the latter’s stoppage-time strike.

In those two alone, Watford have more firepower than Norwich, which could go a long way towards deciding the outcome here.

Watford will probably have to make do without the likes of Joel Ekstrand (knee), Sebastian Prodl (shin) and Valon Behrami (knee), but Heurelho Gomes is expected to make the cut after shrugging off a neck injury.

Watford are Sky Bet’s 11/10 favourites ahead of the visit of Norwich with the away win and draw trading at the same price of 12/5.

“He’s recuperating. He’s better but we need to wait a couple of days more to see if he can compete. And we are still improving”.

Norwich expect to have midfielder Alex Tettey available after a groin problem and manager Alex Neil reported no fresh injury worries following last weekend’s draw with Arsenal.

“We have to play against all teams in the league, so three points against Norwich is the same value as three points against Liverpool”.

Both sides had good results last week but I just think Watford will be too strong at home.

Deeney’s goal was his fourth in successive games, making him the first Watford player to ahieve this feat in the Premier League.
