Christmas parade fun starts December 5 in Franklin County

Aldergrove’s “Ottergrove” Girl Guides will be collecting non perishable food donations for the food bank during the Christmas parade on Saturday, Dec. 12.
Due to this year’s increase of well-behaved children, Santa Claus has recruited some extra help from students at Glenbrook School.
Following the parade, families can head to Depot Park, located at 375 Depot Road, for a tree lighting ceremony and a message from Santa Claus. This continues as I now have my own children and we travel to the same grandparent’s home while they watch along the way to see Rudolph’s nose shining in the sky. Handmade, upcycled and vintage specialties from over 30 vendors from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The parade starts at Indian River High School on Main Street, marching north, then turning west on Clayton Street to the Dagsboro Fire Hall. Last year, it attracted an estimated 2,000 people.
The parade is sponsored by the Huntland Volunteer Fire Department.
