Facing a challenge and a big test. That’s fun for a defense to go against the best.

Then, of course, there’s current No. 1 Clemson. He is the third Tiger to win under Dabo Swinney’s leadership (Tajh Boyd, 2012; C.J. Spiller, 2009).

In case Heisman Trophy voters were unclear on Clemson QB Deshaun Watson’s case for the award, the top-ranked Tigers spelled it out perfectly in the most impressive and professional of résumés.

If Clemson wins, the party will start at noon, when the announcements about the championship bracket are made, and if the Tigers lose, it will be at 3 p.m., Galbraith said.

To sell him short because of injury issues was a mistake, especially considering that he played in a number of games last season at less that full health, which attests to his toughness more than his perceived fragility. “He has gotten so much better running the ball as the season has gone on”.

In 12 games this season, he has accounted for 36 touchdowns, 27 in the air, and 9 on the ground.

There’s also no shortage of motivation for the Tar Heels. In fact, the Tar Heels are hoping to make a huge jump if they’re able to come away with a win.

It’s not like Clemson has nothing to play for, though.

This ACC Coach of the Year accolade is the first one for Swinney and the first one for a Tiger head coach since Tommy Bowden won the award in the 2003 campaign.

This year marks an opportunity for Swinney’s program to truly break through to the very top.

Owner Rick Sutliff said he wasn’t really expecting to get in on the pizza action in competition with the big chains, but it was a way to show support for the Tigers on their way to their first undefeated regular season since the 1981 national championship year.

Both teams have been productive in all three phases of the game, but the greatest separation between the two is on the defensive side of the ball. He does a tremendous job of running the offense and running the ball himself.

Like last week’s Columbia trip, Clemson’s injury report Tuesday had only the two names who’ve been on there since the first game: junior receiver Mike Williams (neck, out) and junior linebacker/defensive back Korrin Wiggins (knee, out for the season).

The Tigers’ defense, on the other hand, doesn’t have the same weakness. He averages 268.6 passing yards per game, 63 yards rushing and has a 70.4 passing percentage.

Swinney’s teams holds a slight edge going into the matchup, but that doesn’t mean it’ll be easy.
