The airstrikes mark an escalation of Britain’s involvement in the U.S.-led air war against ISIS.

The airstrikes have severely reduced the group’s oil output.
The main question now is whether the expansion of the anti-ISIS alliance will lead to a more comprehensive plan which not only aims to hit terrorists, but also seeks to evict them from their current hideouts. Moreover, I have made it clear that we will hunt down terrorists who threaten our country, wherever they are.
The vote split Britain’s opposition Labour Party, with leader Jeremy Corbyn opposed but foreign affairs spokesman Hilary Benn in favour. Corbyn criticized what he called Cameron’s “ill-thought-out rush to war”.
Yet even as worldwide efforts to defeat the extremists grew, animosity between Russian Federation and Turkey only intensified. The first operations in Syria were launched on Thursday, when four planes hit the Omar oil fields in the east of the country.

“It is really hard for the police to estimate who is real and genuine threat, and who is just trying to draw attention to themselves and act out”. The RAF has been conducting air strikes on IS targets in Iraq since 2014.

She admitted because she is an advocate of the air involvement in Syria, she does feel a terrible sense of fear and responsibility. Many military personnel in the field say the limits of what airpower alone can achieve already have been reached. The group is unable to mass forces or move freely in the open spaces in between because of the risk of interdiction by coalition airpower.
In the email, they said: “Politics must be conducted in a better way – more civil and more respectful”.
The U.S. does have specialized joint terminal attack controllers, or JTACs, in theater. British warplanes carried out airstrikes in…
Mr Fallon said the vote had “freed the RAF up” to attack targets on the Syrian side of the border, as well as in Iraq, where the United Kingdom has been taking part in coalition bombing missions for over a year.
“Asked later if he meant Western ground forces, Kerry said: “(I’m) talking about Syrian and Arab, as we have been consistently”.

Something like this seems to be working in Iraq, where Kurdish forces, the Peshmerga, are battling Isil. “But to get a ceasefire that is going to be doable, you are going to have to have a political transition so that those who have been fighting now for years against the regime don’t feel like they are simply putting down their weapons or turning them against ISIL, not having achieved any of the aspirations for which they initially took up arms”. And our thoughts should be with them and their families as they commence this important work.
