The University announced Saturday Dino Babers, former Bowling Green head coach, has taken the title. A win over Boston College gave Syracuse a 4-8 record for the season. While the Falcons fell short of averaging 44 points per game under Babers this season, 43 and change ain’t half bad, obviously.
“They’re going to throw the ball all over the yard”, Neuheisel said.
Babers arrived at Bowling Green after two seasons as head coach at FCS Eastern Illinois. Dino’s success in previous head coaching roles is a testament to his character, his ability to motivate young student-athletes, and his can-do attitude.
“We wanted a leader who had a proven track record and a strong commitment to student welfare”, SU Director of Athletics Mark Coyle said in the release.
Sports Illustrated is reporting that Babers’ is finalizing a six-year deal with the Orange.

While there, Babers helped Briles execute Baylor’s dynamic, up-tempo, high-scoring spread offense and served as outside receivers coach the year Robert Griffin III won the Heisman Trophy.
Accroding the a Cuse.com article, Babers’ resume also includes stints at the University of California, Los Angeles, the University of Pittsburgh, Texas A&M University, the University of Arizona, San Diego State University, Purdue University, Northern Arizona University, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Arizona State University, and the University of Hawaii, his alma mater.

Babers is married to Susan and have four children, Breeahnah, Tasha, Jazzmin, and Paris.
