Louis van Gaal doesn’t understand Manchester United fans’ chants of ‘attack

That’s always hard but we created a lot of chances.

Their latest goalless draw was United’s fourth in the Premier League this season, having played 15 matches so far.

Yet, asked about the mounting criticism of his conservative tactics, United boss van Gaal said: “I don’t understand that they are shouting “attack, attack” because we are the attacking team and not West Ham”.

This was another of those limp City displays that are undermining their title bid and keeper Joe Hart offered few excuses after the game.

“I think that we can be very pleased with the second half of Manchester United, also the first quarter of the match we were very dominant and created chances”.

“And when you don’t score, then it lets points go”. We must score. But we didn’t score and that’s our problem.

“The amount of chances we created here against a team who have conceded only one goal at home this season, especially when you add on top of that we were without four major players, puts me in a situation that I want and I have to praise the players for the team performance”.

“The question is shall Suarez score here or shall Aguero score here?”

“The most important thing is you dominate, create and you finish”. We think we are capable of beating anyone on our day but you have to be realistic also. “It’s too long we don’t score otherwise we could have been first in the league”.

And yes, there were chances, but his side were quite honestly lucky to even escape their home patch with a draw against a diligent, hard-working West Ham on Saturday afternoon.

“It was a moment of madness”, Bilic said.

Some United fans have been calling for Rooney to be dropped because of his underwhelming form, and they got their wish after the captain was ruled out on Friday with an ankle injury.

Arsenal are level with Leicester at the top of the Premier League after they beat a spirited Sunderland team 3-1, with Olivier Giroud scoring a both ends in an eventful game at Emirates Stadium. “Until now we haven’t seen the best of Schweinsteiger, we haven’t seen the player I had at Bayern Munich”.

The policy of going for big marquee signings such as Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo will continue in the summer but nobody at Old Trafford can say with any confidence which names will be targeted or whether they would be successful in their pursuit.
