Chile forward Sanchez suffered his hamstring injury in the 1-1 draw at Carrow Road, while Spain midfielder Cazorla finished the game “playing on one leg” after suffering a blow to his knee.

Walcott was in fine form before he picked up a muscular injury in the loss to Sheffield Wednesday in late October. “He could have killed him”, Wenger said.

“We compare our injuries across Europe and I don’t think we have more injuries than anyone else”, he said.

“When Alexis was pushed it did not shock anybody”.

Despite his comments, Wenger could come under pressure from supporters to recruit during the January transfer market with his squad rocked by injuries.

“We are not after John Stones, if that’s what you want to hear”.

The Chilean global was nudged into a cameraman’s pit by the Norwich defender last Sunday and Bennett tweeted afterwards that he was just trying to stop himself. “He wanted to cut back”, said Wenger.

“I believe first of all it’s always a disappointment to lose the players at an important moment of the season”.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he listens to reggae legend Bob Marley. Cazorla we wait to see the specialist. We know his external knee ligament has been touched. We are in a job where you need to give 100 per cent and to give 100 per cent you must feel absolutely confident and have confidence in your body. “I had players who, after two or three injuries, subconsciously refused to sprint”.

“I don’t know, honestly”.

Wenger admitted his feeling of “disappointment” in losing a number of key players during November, but he challenged his side to show they have the resources to cope with their mounting injury worries. Sam Allardyce has revitalised the Black Cats, who have climbed out of the relegation zone following three wins from their last five Premier League matches. “Yes, we get along better”.
