Why Jurgen Klopp talks to one Liverpool midfielder more than anyone else

Roberto Firmino is the latest Liverpool player to declare their love for Jurgen Klopp, saying he was “very happy” when he was appointed.

Since his appointment in October, the former Borussia Dortmund manager has galvanised the team through a mix of passionate man-management and, it seems, literal magic.

The Wales global, who impressed in Wednesday night’s 6-1 thrashing of Southampton in the Capital One Cup, has just 18 months to run on his current deal.

Liverpool are sixth in the Premier League after 14 games but, if the side can continue their scintillating attacking form, they may be knocking on the door of the top four soon.

“I think there’d be no conflict were there be to be interest in one of our players at some point”.

“For as long as I’ve been here, I’ve always said: Stop building up everyone connected to football to be some sort of demigod”.

“But I think with the advice I’ve had of the surgeons and physios, I know they won’t risk me and I don’t want to risk it myself”.

“Whenever there is an opportunity to have a real go at somebody, then this tends to be taken when it comes to me”, the 26-year-old said yesterday. The logical focus of his interest would be in the players he knows from his time as Dortmund manager.

Subotic is not the only Dortmund target as Fichajes – in a rumour knocked back by Liverpool Echo – report that Marco Reus will also be in the conversation between Liverpool and the Westfalenstadion outfit. But that does not mean that I will definitely leave if we don’t qualify. From the moment I left CRB I was away from my family for a year. The right amount of information is very important.

“The change has been noticed because with Brendan there were some players who had no confidence in themselves. I thought he’d need more time with the team given the style of his football”. “Everyone wants to play, we create many chances, dominate the game”.
