LVG: ‘Very nasty’ Jamie Vardy can win Leicester the league

Leicester City host Manchester United in the Premier League this weekend.

Van Gaal added: “Normally these kind of clubs can be a long time competing, but normally at the end it’s more hard”.

Still the best goalkeeper in the Premier League this season as he has conceded the least goal, David De Gea will be back in goal for United and will have Vardy to deal with. It’s a top of the table clash with many footballing neutrals not expecting that to be the case in November.

Manager Van Gaal denied he selects Rooney because of his role as skipper and instead highlighted the benefits of picking the 30-year-old striker.

But there is no sense of snobbery from Van Gaal when it comes to Vardy’s recent scoring run. “He scored, won a penalty, and now he is scoring ten games in a row”.

In the seventh minute, fans around the ground turned on their smartphone torches in a stunning visual salute to Best, who was one of British football’s greatest players and was a United icon in the No. 7 jersey.

“I know there are players out there in a similar position to where I was that just need an opportunity”, he said. “It’s not so easy to do that”.

Leicester City are a good side and I think they have what it takes to win here.

Michael Carrick could return to the United midfield.

Meanwhile, Ranieri has backed Anthony Martial to come good for Manchester United and brush off any criticism.

“We have analysed Leicester and then we have to look at the shape and qualities of our players, but also the tiredness of every player, how they recover”.

“We are still not lucky in finishing the chances”. If I’m a central midfielder facing Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin, I would not be anxious.

He was encouraged by the 2-1 win at Watford in United’s last Premier League game but felt let down by the goalless draw against PSV.

Yet while the visitors have hardly been prolific in front of goal recently, Leicester’s defence isn’t watertight.

The focus has been on the red-hot striker and his manager feels the 28-year-old has thrived on the attention.

“I don’t think he has changed too much since I started working with him at Ajax”. But the main idea is the team. I shall always line up the strongest team of that moment. “He’s an excellent manager and I’m happy for him”.

He said: “He is ready to break it. If Jamie breaks the record he will break the record”.
