LSU head coach Les Miles celebrates after an NCAA college football game against Texas A&M in Baton Rouge, La., Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015. “In a game like that, with the emotion of senior night and everything that’s going on here, you can’t make mistakes we made tonight and expect to win”. You are our coach.’ Joe Alleva followed that up there after. “Oh, OK, so then basically there’s not a serious overhaul because the motor seems to be pretty stinking strong”, Miles said, according to Ching.

It was such a great win, Miles was even carried off the field by his players. He finished the game owning LSU’s single-season rushing record at 1,741 yards, surpassing the mark of 1,686 yards set by Charles Alexander in 1977.

Freshman running back Derrius Guice put LSU ahead for good, 13-7, with a 50-yard end-around for a touchdown midway through the third quarter. The website, along with the Palm Beach Post, reported Saturday morning that Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher had informed those around him that he meant to remain at FSU.

On the table: a white hat emblazoned with a purple “LSU” – Miles’ traditional game day cap.

“We’re a talented football team”.

Texas A&M (8-4) managed just one touchdown – an 8-yard slant from quarterback Kyle Allen to receiver Ricky Seals-Jones. Miles was able to bring in Zach Mettenberger, who is now a backup in the National Football League with Tennessee, but Mettenberger only came to LSU after being kicked out of Georgia and spending a season in junior college.

This comes back on the coach and must be rectified if Miles intends to keep his job beyond next season.

Now those who have stuck by and supported Les Miles through it all – throughout this entire ordeal – will be very quick to tell you that Miles has actually beaten Saban three times as LSU’s head coach.

Because fairly or unfairly, the record will always show that Miles, who is 108-25 vs. opponents not coached by Saban, has lost five straight games against Saban in Baton Rouge.

LSU drove 70 yards in 13 plays late in the first quarter and early in the second quarter with Fournette getting 60 of those on seven carries, including a 23-yard run to the A&M 13. “LSU played very well on defense”.

That allowed Texas A&M to take a 7-6 lead into halftime. Its defense held A&M to a mere 250 total yards. “We needed it. We wanted it, and we got it. Coach Miles deserved it. We love him to death”.

This entire drama of the last 2 weeks has been all about LSU’s FORMER coach, not the current one. The Tigers now have the No. 2 recruiting class for 2016 and, just three weeks ago, were 7-0 and No. 2 nationally.
