Arsene Wenger reveals midfielder could be facing three months out

Arsene Wenger has claimed Ryan Bennett “could have killed” Alexis Sanchez during Arsenal’s 1-1 draw at Norwich last weekend.

Cazorla played on against Norwich City last Sunday despite taking a heavy knock in the early stages of the second half.

Wenger deployed Joel Campbell and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain on the flanks with Mathieu Flamini and Aaron Ramsey forming the midfielder due to the recent injuries of both Alexis Sanchez and Santi Cazorla.

Stones has emerged as one of English football’s most promising young players and one of the best defenders in the Premier League, and he has been the subject of transfer speculation since the summer.

Wenger also confirmed that Alexis Sanchez will miss some time with a hamstring injury he picked up in the same game, but is unsure exactly how long.

Having felt his hamstring after the Champions League victory over Dinamo Zagreb, Wenger said all of the club’s medical tests showed he was in peak fitness to start at Carrow Road.

“Ideally you want them all to be with you but we are prepared to deal with it”, Wenger said.

“I like to laugh when I am with my friends and to let my humorous side reign free, something that I obviously can not do in front of the media”.

‘I love his music and the man that he was, ‘ Wenger said of Marley. “I had players who, after two or three injuries, subconsciously refused to sprint”.

“Sanchez is a hamstring, but he’s usually a quick one”.

Sunderland are revitalised under Big Sam. Allardyce has won as many league games in six matches as former manager Dick Advocaat had in 17 (three).

“You know I never force anyone to play”.

“You know the injury situation”.

In fact, the Frenchman even went so far as to suggest Sanchez’s fall into the TV camera pit “could have killed him”.

Gooners at the bar are praying a move for a high-profile target for Carvalho can be pulled off but aren’t too optimistic, whilst they’re also concerned that business in January may come too late for Arsenal to maintain their title push.
