Walker reminds voters of union, recall victories as he joins crowded 2016
The Associated Press noted on Monday that a man who fits that description neatly, Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin, has finally announced for president.

His campaign also released a video on Facebook that highlights his political history and makes his case why he would be the best candidate to secure the nomination.
WISCONSIN GOV. Scott Walker formally entered the GOP presidential race on Monday as an immediate contender.
“They’re taking everything and they’re killing us on the border”, Trump had said.
“As you can imagine, the months leading up to my announcement that I would run for President of the United States were filled with a lot of prayer and soul searching”. Walker is now polling in second place behind Jeb Bush across a range of surveys, according to RealClearPolitics.com. But three years later, in 1993, Walker won a seat in the Wisconsin state legislature and hasn’t lost an election since.
Walkers joins a very crowded GOP field. After passing his controversial agenda, Walker faced a recall election in 2012 and won by a larger margin than his 2010 election.
Walker is the 15th announced Republican candidate in the 2016 race. “A great guy. When he says something he does it, and we need that in Washington”, Paul Coles of Dousman said.
But Walker, belying his friendly demeanour – he goes hunting, rides Harley-Davidson motorcycles and appears more comfortable in jeans than a suit – stood steely and unflappable, winning a showdown against furious Democratic state lawmakers and eventually ramming through his reforms.
He cut income and corporate taxes by almost $2 billion, lowered property taxes, legalized the carrying of concealed weapons, made abortions more hard to obtain, required photo identification when voting and made Wisconsin a right-to-work state.
The challenge for the Wisconsinite will be to continue to bridge that gap as the ideological components of his party are courted with more focused appeals by his competitors.
After traveling the country ahead of his announcement, Walker is expected to say that he’s heard from people that they’re exhausted of politicians only saying what they’re against.

Political surveys suggest Walker, the son of a Baptist preacher, has the potential to win broader support from Christian conservatives, Tea Party activists opposed to big government initiatives and business-oriented Republicans.
