Klitschko, Fury Rematch 2016: Heavyweight Boxers Set To Battle In Upcoming
“If Klitschko had retired, we could have slipped straight in and dealt with the mandatory but it says in the contract we can’t have a voluntary so we’re in between a rock and a hard place”.

“I am 27 and I have got a young family, so I want to spend as much time with the kids as I can”.
Peter Fury, Tyson’s uncle and trainer, admitted he was surprised by the speed of Klitschko’s decision to take up a rematch, which delays other options such as a prospective unification bout against WBC champion Deontay Wilder.
“I don’t know if he is going to take the rematch or not”. But with Glazkov, he’s a fighter with controversial wins over Steve Cunningham and Derric Rossy and a controversial draw against Malik Scott. Asked why he threw so few right hands – Klitschko threw only 18 power punches in the entire fight – the beaten man replied: “My right hand was not injured”.
“I’ve always said that I’d like to fight at Croke Park so maybe that can be a reality one day”, he said on Today with Sean O’Rourke on RTÉ Radio 1.
And so boxing has a new heavyweight champion, with Fury having grabbed Klitschko’s WBA Super, IBF and WBO belts and set himself up for some serious paydays, rematch or otherwise.
“Instead we are looking at unifying the four belts”.
Peter Fury also confirmed that his nephew would not defend his new championships in a fight before Klitschko.
Klitschko’s performance on Saturday baffled observers and the Ukrainian clearly believes his defeat was a one-off rather than any indication of advancing years taking their toll on the 39-year-old.
But Fury’s promoter Mick Hennessy has said Fury will vacate the title before that happens.

“No matter where it might be, I want to be the undisputed champion of the world”. “Klitschko worked tirelessly to keep them together and we do not want to have to give any of them away. I’m born and bred in Manchester in England but people who know me know I’ve been back and forward to Ireland for a long, long time”.
