Ezekiel Elliott apologizes to Ohio State fans

On Monday, Elliott apologized for his remarks and wrote that he was “caught up in emotions”.

Meyer said he has “a three-year bank” with Elliott and won’t hold the criticism against him. He added that Elliott has been good student and a loyal and selfless member of the team. Meyer was disappointed, but he said “we squashed it as a team”. “That kid you’re talking about, he’s one of my favorite of all times”.

The Buckeyes were upset 17-14 to the No. 9 Michigan State Spartans at the Horseshoe.

You can either choose to believe Elliott’s comments are the first crack in the machine Meyer built in Columbus, a NFL Draft exodus will precede a hit in recruiting and more systemic problems will tear all that down. There’s no word yet if that will have to continue Saturday against Penn State – that depends on the rate of improvement this week for starter Connor Cook’s sprained right shoulder – but a win at Ohio Stadium should be a confidence boost for both if so. “He said what was on his heart”.

“I’m not saying that (what Elliott said) is not true, I’m just saying that’s not the forum to have those conversations”.

“I deserve more than (12) carries”, Elliott said, via USA Today, “I can’t speak for the playcaller”. That was no surprise, but it was startling that he made that proclamation in that setting.

“We lost the line of scrimmage”, Meyer says.

“I don’t necessarily agree that’s the time or place to say those things, but he is allowed to have an opinion”, Decker said.

Quarterback Cardale Jones also suggested on Twitter that he would be leaving, posting a photo of himself on Twitter with the caption, “Last time walking down them steps and into The Shoe, wish the results were different tho”. I don’t know what was going on. “I watched it for a second as it flew through the air, it was straight, and I don’t even know if I saw it go through the uprights because by then I was gone, I was running”.

After all, there’s not much to be said after such a statement win when the world thought you were going to lose.

“He spoke his mind after the game”, he said. “For everybody to change their mindset about Zeke based off a couple of comments would be insane”. Perhaps the most crucial one came on a Michigan State fourth-and-8 early in the fourth quarter. With the passing game also struggling – due to some combination of the rainy weather and the Spartans’ thunderous pass rush – one might expect the star running back to get more carries. It’s easy to lead when everything is going well, and you won a bunch of games in a row.
