Grey Cup is nirvana for CFL fans
Edmonton Eskimos quarterback Mike Reilly hoists the Grey Cup after his teams win over the Ottawa Redblacks during the 103rd Grey Cup in Winnipeg, Man., Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015.

Late in the first half, Reilly connected with Akeem Shavers for another Edmonton touchdown.
It’s not the first time a Grey Cup team has had to do without a touchdown celebration.
Edmonton Eskimos head coach Chris Jones threw his yellow challenge flag with just over four minutes to play in the fourth quarter, and officials back in Toronto ruled that Ottawa defensive back Brandon Sermons had interfered with receiver Derel Walker deep in Redblacks territory. The RedBlacks led 13-10 after the first quarter.
He was spectacular last week as Edmonton beat the reigning Grey Cup champion Calgary Stampeders in the West Final 45-31, throwing for 371 yards and scoring five total touchdowns in that game without turning the ball over.
“I know Edmonton deserve it too because they’ve been waiting so long for that Grey Cup but Ottawa is here so sorry Edmonton!”
The Eskimos also finished the season registering their 10th straight win, all coming after Reilly returned as the club’s starter.
It was a bitter ending to the season for Ottawa, appearing in its first Grey Cup since a 26-23 loss to Edmonton in 1981.
The trio say they have been a bit put off by the “pro-Ottawa” sentiment in Winnipeg but that’s not enough to dampen their spirits. The city’s last CFL championship came in 1976 with the former Rough Riders. But after falling behind 13-0 early in the first quarter, the Eskimos outscored the Redblacks 26-7. “However, in response to concerns raised, and as the game is meant to be at played at a neutral site, the touchdown celebration that normally occurs at Redblacks’ home games will not be allowed between kickoff and the final gun”. “They found ways to make plays and to get us off the field …”

Edmonton’s quarterback has enjoyed a productive comeback after missing eight games this season to injuries. Chris Milo added a convert, single and two field goals.
