Men’s Soccer Has Four Named NSCAA All-Central Region

Virginia Tech women’s soccer player Murielle Tiernan has been named to the third team of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s 2015 NSCAA All-America Teams for NCAA Division I. Lorina White was named to the first team, while Chelsy Swackhamer and Abbie Boswell were second-team picks. The Newton, Massachusetts, native logged more minutes than any other Colonial this season (1,691) and is the second in program history to grab an All-Region First Team nod after Karen Van Horn garnered the honor in 1981.

Arnold led the Herd in points this season with 23 (nine goals, five assists) and was named the conference offensive player of the week twice.

Kalk and Isaevski earn their second All-Region accolades, as they were named to the D2CCA All_Midwest Region First Team earlier this week along with Channell. “She was a big part of how we created play out of the back and was also a fantastic defensive presence, particularly in the air and with high balls”. The redshirt senior also earned three selections to the All-BIG EAST First Team during her tenure in Queens.

In her senior year at Penn State, Weber has scored eight goals, dished out a team-leading 10 assists and started all but one match. For her career, Poulin has registered 31 wins, which ranks just one victory shy of first place on the St. John’s all-time list, and has recorded 20 clean sheets, also good enough for second in Red Storm history.
