London Underground knife attacker charged
One man, believed to be aged 56, sustained serious knife injuries though they are not believed to be life-threatening. One man suffered a minor injury, while another man suffered a serious slash to his throat.

“We are treating this as a terrorist incident”, CTC leader Commander Richard Walton said in a police statement.
Video posted on Twitter showed police subduing the suspect, believed to be 29 years old, with a stun gun and arresting him on Saturday night.
A machete-wielding man is reported to have said “this is for Syria” before launching the attack at Leytonstone station, in east London.
Police had been dispatched to the station after receiving emergency calls reporting that a man had stabbed people and was threatening others, police said.
The stabbing incident took place just after 7 p.m. local time in London’s Leytonstone Underground station.

On his front, the man was handcuffed behind his back while another officer pinned him down with his knee and passers-by were told to get back. A witness told the BBC he saw a man holding a knife, about three inches long, standing over another man who was lying on the ground, and people running out of the Central Line Tube station.

Police soon arrived in droves, Michael said, along with several ambulances. The underground station reopened at 03:00hrs on Sunday, 6 December.
Police urged people to remain calm but alert and vigilant.

According to the Telegraph, the Scotland Yard has branded the attack as a “terrorist incident” and it happens to be the first terrorist attack on British soil since the murder of fusilier Lee Rigby on May 22, 2013.
