WSU Cougs will take on Miami Hurricanes in Hyundai Sun Bowl

Washington State’s resurgent 2015 season will continue into the postseason as the Cougars have accepted an invitation to play in the Sun Bowl on December 26 in El Paso, Texas.

Things have improved since Golden’s departure, with Miami winning four of its final five games to finish 5-3 in the ACC for the third time in the last four seasons. “This is a fantastic opportunity for our student-athletes to face off against a great opponent in Washington State and we look forward to the challenge”.

The Cougars are heading to El Paso, Texas, for their second ever appearance in the Sun Bowl, which has picked WSU over Utah. But Falk also took a beating behind a still-bad offensive line and missed significant parts of two Wazzu games in November before sitting out the Apple Cup.

Head coach’s bowl record: Interim coach Larry Scott is coaching in his first bowl game.

This will the first time that Miami has faced Washington State.

Under fourth-year head coach Mike Leach, the Cougars finished the regular season 8-4 overall, 6-3 in the Pac-12 play, the best records, respectively, since the 2003 campaign when WSU went 10-3, 7-2.
