Louis Van Gaal Hints Manchester United Will Move For Striker In January

Van Gaal’s quotes might not be the most apropriate motivation for his players, but a crunch game against the Bundesliga runners up last season should be motivation enough.

To double the impact of any United decision not to pursue Guardiola, the door would then be open for Manchester City to swoop for the Spaniard. Who knew? Well, most people should have, at least.

Louis van Gaal admitted Luis Suarez and Sergio Aguero would score goals in Manchester United’s team after watching his side fail to notch for a fifth time in nine games.

United’s information is that Guardiola will not renew his current deal and wants to work in English football but that will not interest them because of the timing of his availability and their support for Louis van Gaal. There are a few possibilities here. And although he has a strong relationship with City director of football Txiki Begiristain, he is also enticed by the history and tradition of United. This is in the Mirror.

Martial also caused West Ham problems with his pacy runs and Lingard also proved a threat on the left flank.

During his two-year reign as Bayern Munich coach, Van Gaal was unbeaten in four encounters with Wolfsburg, winning three of them.

Van Gaal took exception to the United chants of “attack, attack, attack” after the stalemate, insisting his team were doing most of the attacking.

“I think that we have seen a very good match with also a very good, organised West Ham United”, Van Gaal said.

‘We have to go as far as possible but normally we are not good enough to win the Champions League. However, if he were to leave Bayern next summer that would count against United, given it comes a year before Van Gaal’s contract expires.

United were reeling. They were also lucky to have 11 men on the pitch too. You never know. I think they would, though.

“I know they will not attack very much because they will continue [to the last 16] with a draw and that result would make us dependent on the PSV Eindhoven result [against CSKA Moscow]. In every match we create chances and we have actually created more of them in the Champions League than in Premier League games”, he added.

“The reason we bought Schweinsteiger is because he is a player who can lead and guide a team”, the manager says.

“It is [difficult to beat Wolfsburg] but we are confident we can do it”, the former Southampton midfielder told United Review.

Winston Reid has accused Bastian Schweinsteiger of elbowing him during the goalless draw at Old Trafford
