Red Sox finalize $217 million, 7-year deal for David Price
Price is good enough to be ranked among most of these guys, but if he is truly going to make a dent as one of the greatest pitchers in Red Sox history, he has an incredibly tough road ahead of him. In front of a media contingent at Fenway Park, the 30-year-old pitcher spoke glowingly of the Red Sox’ past success and future potential.

“There are exceptions to any rule, and certainly, this is one of the most exceptional pitchers”, he said at Price’s presentation.
Stick a fork in this feud, because David Ortiz and David Price are now Boston Red Sox teammates.
Friday afternoon, the Red Sox introduced new staff ace David Price at a press conference at Fenway Park.
Report: Cubs get Lackey: Cardinals free agent right-hander John Lackey, 37, agreed to a two-year, $32 million deal with the Cubs, ESPN reported. His deal tops the $215 million Clayton Kershaw will earn from the Los Angeles Dodgers from 2014-20.
The Red Sox went 78-84 and finished in last place in the AL East for the second straight year (and third time in the past four) in 2015. I know that I can throw the baseball the way that I do in the season in the playoffs. “I think you guys will enjoy those”, Price said. “It was just a matter of him getting his body built up to becoming who David Price is”. “What he’s done for this organization and the game of baseball is really special”, said Price, who was given the No. 24 worn by Dwight Evans and Manny Ramirez. “We both absolutely hated each other and now we’re both one of each other’s favorite teammates and favorite players”.
“When I got traded to Detroit I could not stand Ian Kinsler”, Price added.
Price sent signals that he wanted to come to Chicago, where he could play for manager Joe Maddon again, remain close to his home in Nashville, Tennessee, and become the finishing piece for a team that advanced to the National League Championship Series and hasn’t won a title since 1908.

“They have winning in their past”. Price was 22, drafted first overall by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays the previous June and making his second pro start in an A-ball game attended by fewer than 2,000 fans. (It) hasn’t always happened in the postseason. “It’s going to be exciting for our fans, but it’s going to be really exciting for our team”.
