LSU will play in the Texas Bowl against Texas Tech

The game against LSU (8-3) will mark Texas Tech’s (7-5) 37th all-time appearance in a bowl game. The group consists of the Music, Texas, Belk, TaxSlayer, Outback, and Liberty Bowls with no pecking order.

The Red Raiders (stats | results) bring the nation’s No. 2-ranked offense (594.5 yards/game, 46.6 points/game) and the No. 127 (of 128 FBS teams) ranked defense (540.2 yards per game allowed).

LSU will play Texas Tech in the Texas Bowl, according to the Houston Chronicle’s Matt Young.

The Red Raiders will play in their second bowl game of the Kingsbury era (37th overall), after missing out on post-season play a year ago at the conclusion of the 2014 season.

During Texas Tech’s recent win against Texas in Austin, Washington surpassed Michael Crabtree to set a new school record for receiving yards.

The game will be played December 29 in Houston, Texas and is scheduled for an 8 pm kickoff.
