As noted by Rolling Stone, the singer’s label, Def Jam, pushed back the album’s release several times a year ago.

“What Def Jam has done to Jeremih is so foul”, he wrote.
Twitter received a sexy wake-up call from Jeremih when the R&B crooner (finally) released his highly anticipated third studio effort Late Nights: The Album early Friday morning (Dec. 4). While he hasn’t released an album of his own for half a decade, he’s remained a force in popular music, lending his voice to singles by the likes of 50 Cent, Nelly, Ludacris, and many more. The album includes features from Future, Big Sean, Twista, Migos, YG, and more. “They have his Album out at $18.99 I have never seen a album priced that high in 5 years”, before adding a slanderous, “SMH STUPID MOTHERFU*KERS”.
After numerous delays and setbacks the album was release out of nowhere with no heads up.
Jeremih also announced that he’ll perform three shows in support of Late Nights. “It’s hard when I’m on a roster with Rihanna, Rick Ross and Kanye West”.
