The San Diego Chargers defense deserves some credit today. He was sacked four times, posting a 57.1 passer rating. Rivers had a huge game last week against Jacksonville with 300 yards and four touchdowns, but facing the Broncos will be considerably more hard. That 17-3 score was also the final, with Denver improving to 10-2 on the season. Defensively, the Chargers yield 253.9 yards in passing and 123.7 yards in rushing. Gordon has yet to score his first NFL TD. The over/under for this game is 43 total points. The Broncos will certainly find some room to run this week. Broncos OLB DeMarcus Ware (back) and S T.J. Ward (ankle) were inactive….
Then they got a remarkably easy victory against the hapless San Diego Chargers. Pass rushes wither. Big plays happen. Miller and then Shane Ray that got the third and fourth sacks of the game to seal the victory. McManus scored the extra point, bringing the score to 14-0.
Defensively, all the Broncos have to do is maintain discipline against the run while pinning their ears back to get after Philip Rivers.
The Chargers’ season was effectively over before its loss to the Broncos.
There was a lot of talk about how the Denver Broncos would do if they had to drop Peyton Manning following his poor form and rumored injury problems for much of the first half of the season. Any glimmer of a playoff berth died many weeks ago, and it doesn’t help that the team’s injury list continues to expand.

Reports leaked Sunday morning that the team had given General Manager Tom Telesco a three-year contract extension before the season even began. With so many holes, a top-five pick could either go towards finding another field-tilter or as trade fodder for additional picks. San Diego has a 3-8 record for the year.
The numbers didn’t dazzle.
Osweiler threw for 166 yards and a first quarter touchdown, which proved to be the game-winning score, as the Broncos defense completely shut down the San Diego Chargers in a 17-3 win Sunday at Qualcomm Stadium. Blitzing and just making Osweiler feel uncomfortable in the pocket is a must. Fortunately for them, their defense is lending tremendous support to the offense. Outside of Manning’s performance against the Packers and a few isolated halves, he hasn’t provided that kind of stability.
It is very important that the Broncos got off to a quick start and it has proven to work out.

Manning is recovering from a partial tear of the plantar fascia in his left foot, and did not travel with the team to San Diego.
