Ace Combat 7 has been a long time coming and it was finally announced at PlayStation Experience today as a PS4/VR exclusive title. ACE COMBAT 7 will take the elements that the series is known for to a whole new level! They’re also promising “the fiercest air combat experience ever through photorealistic visuals, intense dog-fighting action, a multitude of authentic and futuristic aircraft to fly, and an immersive storyline”. A brief trailer showcased a fighter jet going up against thousands of enemies as a player fell through the sky. A campaign mode was confirmed alongside competitive online features.

There was no release date announced, but Ace Combat 7 should be available next year along with along with the PlayStation VR headset.
“It’s no small feat for any video game franchise to thrive over two decades”, said Bandai Namco Europe’s VP of Marketing and Digital Herve Hoerdt.
The most recent Ace Combat game was the freakishly hellish Infinity.

The announcement was made during Sony Computer Entertainment’s (SCE’s) opening keynote conference.
