Liverpool FLOP poised to make Premier League return for Swansea City

Beleaguered Swansea boss Garry Monk insists he will carry on fighting in his job, even though he admits he does not know what more he can do to stop the club’s slide down the Barclays Premier League.

He was still at the Liberty Stadium with his staff a full two hours after the demolition, which means Swansea have now won only one Premier League game in their past 11.

Garry Monk will hold crunch talks with the Swansea board on Monday afternoon with his future in serious doubt.

Ex-Manchester United boss David Moyes has ruled himself out of taking over the managerial reigns at Swansea City, as per BBC Sport.

His side are now sitting in 15 place on the Premier League table, a point away from Newcastle United in 18 place.

Monk said in November he has the “full backing” of chairman Huw Jenkins, while captain Ashley Williams has voiced his support for the former Swans skipper.

“Of course I am anxious”, Monk said. “No-one knows the club better than me and I have tried to instill the principles and values of the club into the players and how we play but things are not good enough at the moment”. “Results are not acceptable and I accept that more than anyone else”. It is not a good situation that we are in.

“Obviously confidence plays a big part in this type of run, but I think our mentality has to be stronger than ever”. We will obviously do our best to keep clean sheets but if we can’t keep a clean sheet then we will go up the other end and score.
