Following last week’s tease, Google is today rolling out an update for its Nexus line of phones and tablets that adds a bunch of new and redesigned emoji.

There are no details regarding the tablet’s specs just yet.

The Google Nexus 2016 rumors started circulating early and the initial speculations focus on the device that was withheld this 2015 – the Nexus tablet.

The alleged Nexus 7 (2016) tablet is rumoured to run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.

If indeed the Nexus 7 2016 would materialize, it’s fair to expect that inside and out of the device will speak of high-end components. The Nexus 7 should be a very interesting tablet and the tech company needs to show that it can keep up with the progress of the Nexus lineup.

Likewise, nothing has been said about the Nexus 7’s price or availability.

The guys at GeekBench have clocked Pixel C’s processor at 1.395 single core performance and 4.345 with multi-core ranking it better than the Nexus 9’s Nvidia Tegra K1, which got slightly lower scores, 1.884 single core and 3.204 multi-core. Google says the new set is part of the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update and that it has already shared them with its OEM partners, such as Samsung, HTC, and Motorola. In the same event, the Nexus 7 2016 will likely be introduced, setting off the countdown for the pure Android tablet’s release date in the immediate months or weeks ahead.
