The Division Alpha coming this week

The Division is high on the list of most anticipated games for 2016, and with good reason.

The beta, on the other hand, will be taking place in early 2016. Thankfully, it sounds like the latest delay for The Division will only affect the game’s pre-launch testing period. Tom Clancy’s The Division Beta that was originally planned for December 2015, is now being pushed to sometime in early 2016.

“This exclusive Xbox One alpha testing phase in December will be the first time the public gets to play a version of The Division that includes more than the Dark Zone PvP enabled areas”.

To make up for it, a closed alpha test offering access to a slice of the game will instead be available to select players for four days starting this Wednesday, December 9. Before that will be the Xbox One exclusive Closed Alpha, which will be very hard to get into. This process allows us to monitor and gather additional feedback on other aspects of The Division, as well. However, players will be asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement before playing that means they won’t be able to share images, video, or description of the content they play. Those interested in the alpha can note that it starts at 10 AM CET/4 AM EST/1 AM PST on December 9th and will end at 3 AM EST/12 AM PST on December 12th. Those who have pre-ordered the game will be given top priority though, as compensation for the Beta’s delay.
