Warriors Cruise To Win Against Nets, Now At 22-0

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry might have the best hands in the game today and the bucket looks as big as the ocean when he shoots the basketball. But you wouldn’t know it from the way they play against the Golden State Warriors.

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the win moved Golden State past the St. Louis Maroons of the Union Association, a predecessor to Major League Baseball, for the best start to a season by a USA professional sports team.

The man at the center off it all, of course, is Stephen Curry, the reigning MVP who continues to amaze fans across the country.

The Golden State Warriors extended their unbeaten run this season to 22 games after they crushed the Brooklyn Nets 114-98 on Sunday.

And they led 98-95 when forward Luis Scola made two free throws with 4min 13sec to play but Curry tied it with a three-pointer. His most influential work was done in the final moments of the third quarter. Bogdanovic and Brown finished with five and seven points, respectively. “I got some shots up on that rim for three years every game night”, he said.

“Things started to click”.

The barrage lasted only 2:31 – but it was more than enough to finish Brooklyn.

The Splash Brothers combined for 19 points to lead Golden State to a 30-16 lead after the opening quarter.

“We will rely on our depth as we go into Brooklyn”, Curry said. “So we just needed a little life”.

The Warriors jumped out to an early lead, tipping off the game on a 9-0 run en route to a 30-16 first quarter. Suddenly, the deficit was down to three heading into the second half.

“Plus, he has a great team”, Nets coach Lionel Hollins said. “He doesn’t have to do it all the time”. Carmelo Anthony had yet another bad shooting night, with just 6-of-17 shots going in.

But early on it was Klay Thompson.

“Once [Curry] starts to get it going, get into a rhythm, it’s hard to stop him, it’s hard to their whole team”, said Thaddeus Young, who had a team-high 25 points and 14 rebounds.

The Nets, however, didn’t go quietly. Center Festus Ezeli scored eight points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Golden State. After a missed layup by Thompson, the Nets pushed the ball downcourt and Johnson hit a corner three with two seconds left to send the Nets into the break trailing just 57-54. The Warriors missed nine free throws in the first quarter yet still led by 14 points, and they took control in the second half to cruise to a 22-0 record. In the second and third quarters, we were even. (We went) ahead in the third and we didn’t close the quarter very well. Curry, who is averaging 35.1 points in 34.1 minutes in road games, once again proved to be too much to handle for Toronto, nailing nine 3-pointers – including three in a 14-point fourth quarter.

Utah’s Derrick Favors scored a career-high 35 points as the Jazz rallied to win 122-119 in overtime against Indiana.
