Dr Asim denies all allegations, fears for his life
Meanwhile, the investigation officer requested the court to grant another five-day remand of Asim. Khan also apprehended that Dr Asim’s custody might be given back to the Rangers, saying if this was done an impartial inquiry would not be possible.

Former Petroleum Minister Dr Asim Hussain denied allegations leveled against him of facilitating and providing medical treatment to the terrorists in his private hospital and said that his life was in danger.
A Sindh High Court (SHC) bench declined on Monday to proceed with applications seeking an impartial inquiry into the corruption case against former federal minister Dr Asim Hussain and his release on bail till the completion of such inquiries.
Dr Asim said he was being wrongly accused of facilitating terrorists, but that he was innocent.
During the court proceedings, Asim was asked by the presiding judge if he had a statement to make as he was present in an “open court and he was safe in the premises”.
The Sindh Rangers registered a case against Dr Asim at a North Nazimabad police station last month, soon after the expiry of the 90-day remand that the paramilitary force had obtained from the anti-terrorism court for investigation after his arrest in August. Dr. Asim said that if killing him is the ultimate end then he should be killed at once as he can not bear anymore.
“I was some times given lollipop and on other occasion threatened”, he said and insisted that he was being made a scape goat to implicate somebody else, an apparent reference to former president Asif Zardari.
“The cases against me for treating terrorists in my medical facilities are false and baseless”.
Filing a miscellaneous application, Nida Faizan, Dr Asim’s daughter, had pleaded to the court to allow the release of her father on post-arrest bail, as cases against him still needed inquiry.
