This news comes via Ubisoft’s blog, but it’s not all bad news if you were planning on trying out The Division this year. Tom Clancy’s The Division Beta that was originally planned for December 2015, is now being pushed to sometime in early 2016. A closed alpha for a select few Xbox One players will begin this week, and will be the first time players have gotten their hands on more than just the “Dark Zone” PvP areas of the game.

There is no digital edition available through Xbox.com yet, but you can pre-order The Division through the Microsoft Store. The contents of the beta were not disclosed.
Players in the Closed Alpha test will be subject to a non-disclosure agreement, so Twitch streams are not allowed – nor is discussion on the title in public forums.
Tom Clancy’s The Division Alpha will be available on Xbox One. Ubisoft will be sending out codes from later on today, so keep an eye on your Xbox Live inbox. By accepting the NDA, you are agreeing to not disclose alpha information and footage to the public.
Tom Clancy’s The Division has suffered multiple delays in the past, so maybe it shouldn’t be too surprising to learn that history is repeating once again.
Some other details were offered in regards to the closed alpha in Ubisoft’s announcement. The alpha will be a hefty 23.2 GB download, so if you do get access, you’ll want to start downloading as soon as possible.

The alpha will be available everywhere, except in Japan and China. The alpha client will only support English language. The full game releases on March 8, so the beta will have to release either in January or February.
