Steph Curry Leads Golden State Warriors to Victory
After a fierce struggle down the stretch, the Warriors overcame the Toronto Raptors 112-109 on Saturday. After DeRozan went 1 for 2 at the line, Curry hit two more free throws. Incredibly they’ve won the last five games where they gave up 40 points in the first quarter. He scored 12 of his 21 points when Golden State appeared on its way to a runaway in the opening quarter. Curry spoke on the team’s success this year saying, “Twenty-one different challenges and we’ve been able to separate each one individually and figure out different ways of winning”.

He is averaging 30 points for his six career games at the Canadian city where his father, Dell, played for his final three seasons.
“I have great memories of being here watching my dad play”, Curry told reporters after the game.
Nets Head Coach Lionel Hollins said of the game, “Well, we got off to another dastardly start”.
In a long season after coming off of winning a championship they will need something to get motivated about and play for. “It’s a familiar setting”. San Antonio improved its home record to 11-0 by defeating Boston 108-105.
“It’s one of our biggest strengths, is that we’re never out of a game and we’re always one little run away from putting a game away”, coach Luke Walton said.
At Queensway Christian College, Curry played on the school’s 7th and 8th grade basketball team which arguably laid the foundation for his stellar high school career in North Carolina.
Reggie Jackson had 20 points and six assists, Andre Drummond delivered his NBA-high 19th double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds and Anthony Tolliver added nine points and a season-high 13 rebounds for Detroit (12-9). “I don’t think I’ve ever been 22-0 in my life”. That leaves them with a 60-game season to compete in where they’d have to go 50-10 or win just over 72 percent of their games. Toronto gave the game a great effort and even outscored Golden state in the second, third and fourth quarter but they were still defeated.
With just over four minutes to play, power forward Luis Scola made two free throws to put them 98-95 ahead but Curry immediately answered back with a three-pointer. He made a combined nine three-pointers in the game to lead the Warriors to victory. Larkin then intercepted Curry’s outlet pass and fed Thaddeus Young for the layup with 56.2 seconds left in second.
Curry made sure this time that Brooklyn didn’t get a second shot at ending the Warriors’ run.
Guard Lowry led the Raptors with 41 points and seven assists in front of a crowd of 20,100 at the Air Canada Centre. After a missed layup by Thompson, the Nets pushed the ball downcourt and Johnson hit a corner three with two seconds left to send the Nets into the break trailing just 57-54.
Curry and Thompson returned but neither player was needed on the second night of a back-to-back.

The Warriors (22-0) have thrived by playing small and draining shots from beyond the arc.
