Appeal court nullifies Ekwunife’s election
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance and the party’s candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District in the 2015 general election, Chief Victor Umeh, has floored Senator Uche Ekwunife at the Court of Appeal.

The National Assembly Election Tribunal presided over by Justice Nayai Aganaba, had earlier upheld the election of Mrs. Ekwunife who is now the chairperson, senate committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream).
However the tribunal dismissed his petition for lack of merit thereby upholding the election of Ekwunife as the senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District. People voted for us but PDP rigged the election.
The tribunal chaired by Justice A.D. Yahaya set aside the lower tribunal judgment which cancelled the election and ordered a re-run. I am happy that PDP that foisted this heist died in the last election. It therefore noted that Nnamani failed to prove that there was substantial non-compliance with the Electoral Act in the conduct of the election by INEC.
The appeal was filed by Mr Umeh of APGA.
He said, “You people worked hard during the election”.
He contended that he did not know how the commission arrived at the result announced because the final result of the election ought to be the same as the summary of the calculation of polling units results, which was not so in the said election.

The lower tribunal had in its decision held that the election was marred with irregularities and non-compliance to the Electoral Act. Meanwhile, it was jubilation galore for members of APGA from Anambra State, who besieged the Appeal Court on Monday morning to listen to the verdict.
