Gaya: Valencia ready to follow Neville to the death

Jamie Carragher has provided the answer to one of the most pressing concerns in football currently, by revealing what is in store for Monday Night Football now Gary Neville has been appointed as Valencia’s new head coach.

“The only man we could find who is more unpopular than Gary Neville”, he quipped.

Gary Neville paid a visit to former mentor Sir Alex Ferguson’s house to discuss the proposition of managing Spanish team Valencia before accepting the job, as per Sky Sports.

It led Bellamy to the subject of league leaders Leicester, and in particular Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez, the latter of which he credited as the best player in the top flight so far this season.

“Bellamy would have a lot to say”. “How intense he is, how aggressive he is closing down but always just how he plays on the shoulder and looks to go in behind”.

“I spoke to him; he came over to my house”.

You have to think, though, that if a standout performer emerges from what could be seen as an ongoing audition, a permanent replacement for Neville may still be found.

The pair’s Monday Night Football show, which features extensive video analysis, has proven to be popular among fans but Neville’s departure means that its’ future is uncertain.

In terms of who will be dissecting this weekend’s action, as well as the clash at Goodison Park, the Daily Mail have hinted that it will be Carragher’s former teammate Craig Bellamy that will be filling the role. Yes, he’s a young manager and people talk about experience, but give him experience through a bad time.
