Reds agree to deal Chapman to Dodgers

Yahoo reported more than a dozen police officers responded to Chapman’s home in Florida on October 30. Chapman allegedly admitted to firing the gunshots, most of which landed in the concrete in the garage while one went through a window.

No arrest were made that night “due to conflicting stories and lack of cooperation from all parties involved” and the argument seemed to escalate when she noticed something on Chapman’s phone.

Reds president of baseball operations Walt Jocketty said last month that he hoped to move the hard-throwing left-hander before Major League Baseball’s annual Winter Meetings, which began Monday in Nashville, Tenn. In the report, Chapman’s lawyer “vehemently” denied the allegations. “Beyond that, we have no further comment at this time”, he said.

“The argument proceeded to get physical, the report states, with Chapman’s girlfriend claiming he “‘choked’ her by placing his hands around her neck”.

Update: Joel Sherman from the NY Post tweeted earlier that the Dodgers plan to use BOTH Jansen and Chapman in the closer role based on match ups.

Don’t put up the graphic with Aroldis Chapman in a Photoshopped Los Angeles Dodgers uniform quite yet. Soria, 31, was 3-1 with a 2.53 ERA in 72 relief appearances with Detroit and Pittsburgh this year.

Next offseason will be their chance, and elite closers come armed with much more negotiating leverage than even the top setup men. Instead, Miley will take the rotation spot in Seattle that opened with the loss of free agent Hisashi Iwakuma, who agreed to a contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers, a deal that hasn’t been announced but was acknowledged by Mariners general manager Jerry Dipoto.

The addition of Chapman gives the Dodgers a lethal 1-2 punch late in games, as they now have Kenley Jansen on the roster as well. There is a lot to unpack, so it’s advisable to head to Yahoo to read the whole thing. They still have a couple of problems left and one of them is that they need a solid starter.

“You look at Chase Utley, the intangibles, I think he’s a special player and can make our team better”, Roberts said. “I was looking forward to being on the same club, but that’s the nature of this game”.
