Xiaomi teases a bezeless Mi 5

Many have speculated that this could be the bezel-less Mi 5 smartphone that comes with a 3D touch technology.

Xiaomi teased their latest device the Mi 5 on their Weibo account.

However, the recently posted teaser image does not mention anything about the phone in the picture.

This includes new devices that Xiaomi will announce including Mi 5 and Mi 5 Plus.

The patent troll said that Xiaomi is using the technology in the patent without its permission for the Mi 4, the Mi 4 LTE, the Mi 4c, the Mi 4i, the Mi Note Plus, the Redmi 1S, the Redmi 2, the Redmi 2 Prime, the Redmi 2A and the Redmi Note 2. In the image spotted on the website, the handset shows the “Mi” logo at the top left corner along with a metal frame.

The timing of Blue Spike’s patent infringement lawsuit against Xiaomi obviously aims to capitalize on the pending announcement of the Mi 5, which is rumored to occur probably as soon as January 2016.

This image is not a leak, but it is an official image spotted on the company’s Weibo website.

But as Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has already said, it takes the tech firm 12 to 18 months to put out a flagship, adding that theirs will be “close to perfect” when its covers are finally removed. It is going to be the first smartphone to arrive with Snapdragon 820 chipset.

So keeping that in mind, we don’t think the release of the Mi 5 or the Mi 5 Plus should be delayed (at least in the Asian markets).

As a result, Xiaomi wants the next Mi 5 to be a bang globally.

The 64 GB variant is going to be equipped with 4 GB of RAM. It will be armed with a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera and an 8-megapixel or 5-megapixel front-facing snapper for selfies and handle video chats. It will come preloaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow that is overlaid with MIUI 7 proprietary software.
