Twitter updates to richer image display

Twitter is uncropping photos in attempts to create a more “immersive” experience for its users.

Of course, Twitter users are already using the feature less for “awe-inspiring” moments and more for humor.

Historically, Twitter has cropped images to fit a certain size, but now users will be able to see the whole thing automatically, without having to click.

Now when people post multiple photos, the display is similar to a Facebook collage, with one photo shown larger and others shown as thumbnails to the side.

As of Monday, photos can be seen bigger and fuller in display, the way they’re meant to be seen. This is phenomenal news for anyone who’s regularly tweeted photos of people, only to have Twitter weirdly cut off their head and center an image on their chest or groin.

Social media giant Twitter has made photos even more integral to its platform in its latest product update.

This year, Twitter has rolled out a slew of new features in attempts to optimize its capabilities, including Moments and autoplaying videos.

In this morning’s announcement, Twitter says it is refining the platform to keep pace with the richness of modern media.

Moments can be directly blended into your twitter feed to easily keep track of frequently updating events, like a sports game or political debate.

If you are a regular tweeter of photos, you will be happy to know that Twitter will no longer be cropping your photos. It used to display cropped photographs in square grids; now it will show the entire un-cropped photo and collect multiple pictures into larger, more dynamic image galleries.
