Man United’s Anthony Martial ‘doesn’t need that pressure’ says patient Louis
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal described his side’s crucial clash against Wolfsburg as the biggest of his reign at the club so far.

“But I am convinced he shall continue with his performances and also that he will score at the right moments again”.
Van Gaal has come under fire this season for his conservative tactics and United’s subsequent failure to play the kind of entertaining football that was their hallmark during the Alex Ferguson era. United have scored just one goal in drawing their last three games, including a goalless draw at home to Eindhoven a fortnight ago which means they must win in Wolfsburg to be sure of reaching the last 16 in Europe.
“They want to show their qualities at the highest podium. And that’s why it is very important to beat the opponent tomorrow”, he told journalists in Wolfsburg on 7 December. “He doesn’t need that pressure to score in every match”.
The 56-year-old, who has been out of work since leaving his role at Real Madrid in May 2015, has previously expressed his interest in returning to management in the Premier League.
“I have great confidence that we shall score at Wolfsburg”.
“It is a bit odd seeing him when you only know him with the FC Bayern shirt or from the German national team”.
Schneiderlin has not travelled to Germany because of a hip injury sustained in the 0-0 draw against West Ham United on Saturday, said the club’s website on Monday.
United will be without Wayne Rooney, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw, Antonio Valencia, Ander Herrera, Phil Jones and Morgan Schneiderlin tonight.
Maxime Lestienne, the Belgian striker who scored both goals for PSV in Moscow, is back in training after being given compassionate leave following the death of his father, just weeks after his mother also died.
“I have the experience as a manager that the goals shall come, because when you are creating chances at the end you will score and finish those chances”.

Lestienne is hoping he could get some playing time as PSV attempts to secure a place in the knock-out round of the Champions League.
